About this event

The 2020 PRASEG Winter Reception marks the start of a crucial year for energy and climate change policy in the UK. Climate change was one of the defining issues of the 2019 General Election and politicians are more engaged in the future of clean energy than ever before. In the lead up to COP26 in Glasgow, the world will be shining a spotlight on the UK and how it begins to implement new policies and programmes to achieve its new 'net zero' greenhouse gas emissions target for 2050.

The Reception will bring together up to 200 leaders and experts in the fields of renewable and sustainable energy, including politicians, business leaders, researchers and academics, in the House of Commons on 11 February 2020.

The event will provide early networking opportunities for new and returning Members of Parliament to meet with a wide range of experts, and to hear from a senior Government Minister about what the next 12 months might hold for UK energy policy. New National Grid Ventures CEO, Jon Butterworth MBE, will provide a keynote speech before new MPs are invited to participate in a quick-fire session, where they will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, their constituency and their interests or key questions relating to energy and climate change.

Around the room, PRASEG will welcome 8 supporting organisations to host stands and present materials showcasing cutting edge UK renewable energy projects to Parliamentarians.

Attendance is strictly by invitation only. Anyone hoping to attend should register through this website. Places will then be confirmed subsequently via email but please note that admittance to the House of Commons will only be granted to those with an official invitation (that will be sent out the week before the event).
